Ancient Corinth Tour from Athens Greece
Ancient Corinth Tour Departing from Athens, you will travel west along the scenic coast until you reach the stunning "archaeological feature" of the Corinth Canal where you will stop for a short time to take in the sights. A short drive brings you to the ancient town of Corinth, once one of the richest cities in the known world. Here, you will get the chance to visit the remains of the huge "Agora" (marketplace) and Apollo's Temple. Ancient Corinth was the home of St. Paul the Apostle for 2 years and it was here that he wrote the 1st and 2nd Thessalonians (AD 52). Following your visit to Corinth, the tour will make a brief stop at the ancient port of Kenchreai before returning to Athens in time for lunch (not included).

The ruins of Ancient Corinth are spread out at the foot of the huge rock of Acrocorinth. Ancient Corinth derived its prosperity from its position on the narrow isthmus between the Saronic and Corinthian gulfs. Transporting goods across the isthmus, even before the canal was built, provided the shortest route from the eastern Mediterranean to the Adriatic and Italy.
